Update from foster care: Billy (Sambo Warrior)

Cute little Billy (Sambo Warrior) is being fostered by Jacquie, Tony , Drew and their greyhound Jolie (Snowie Secret) in Pirongia (Waikato). They just sent us an update on their foster boy, who has been with them for just under two weeks now:
Billy is very soft, and not as confident as Jolie, but he is improving with Jolie's help! :)
Have just had a break in the rain and watched him and Jolie hoon around the yard like a couple of speed freaks. Tail is high and wagging! :)
He’s progressed from being afraid of the cats to being OK with ignoring them – as long as they’re being quiet. If there’s any hissing involved, he goes in the other direction.
We took him for a walk to the local dog park because he’s seemed so reassured to be on a lead. He was a total delight on the lead, and was very intrigued by a goat tethered by the road on our way home. He kept giving us these ‘did you SEE that?’ kind of looks, LOL!

Update from Jolie (Snowie Secret)

In April this year Jolie (Snowie Secret) went to live with Jacquie and family in Waikato. Jacquie just sent us an update and some lovely pictures:

Jolie has settled in like a dream. I don’t think we’ve ever had such a sweet natured dog! There’s nothing quite like the greyhound happy dance first thing in the morning and when we come home from being out (even for 10 minutes)!
Right from the first day she took her lead from our black lab, Nero, following him around and even giving up a part of her bed to him on cold nights. Jolie is getting the hang of living with cats, although she still backs away if they’re in the room. In fact one day I could hear her crying and couldn’t find her. She was ‘trapped’ in a bedroom because a cat was stretched out in the doorway! She’s delightful, and we’re so grateful to have her in our lives.

Sadly, Nero passed away last weekend. As I write this, none of us are settled, least of all Jolie. She keeps looking for him. We’re sharing lots of cuddles. These photos are the last memories we have of him, and will remind us always of Jolie’s first days with her new friend.

Our foster greyhounds Hugo (Young Valiant) and Snow (Snowie Secret) love each other :) They sleep together, hang out together and play together. It is very cute :)

Snow, Hugo and Benjamin

We went for a run at Kyrewood Equestrian center today - doggies had loads of fun, althought it was drizzling at times.

Handsome pair: Snow and Hugo

Our new foster girl Snow (Snowie Secret) arrived yesterday and we thought to celebrate it with a run at the velodrome :)

Everybody had such fun -especially Hugo and Snow, who run the most :)

Snow is very cute, small girl, who looks like a meerkat! Well,  apart from her hilarious tail, which I swear reminds me of the tail of European fox! Snow is light fawn , but for some reason, her permanently bushy tail is dark grey on top - very fox-like! :)
Whether a meerkat or a fox, Snow is very sweet and affectionate. She slept like a baby her first night here and is currently fast asleep in the conservatory (after having couple of mad races with Hugo in the garden! :)
