Beautiful Blitzy (Thrilling Blitz) is looking for his retirement home - could it be with you?

Isn't he just gorgeous? This is 4 years old Blitzy (Thrilling Blitz), a recently retired middle distance racer  who is now looking for a loving retirement home.
Blitzy is being homed privately by his trainer Kathy Wilson and his foster carer Danielle Irving,  who have asked us to assist in  finding a good, responsible and loving home for this special boy; we are happy to feature this amazing dog on our blog and help him find a wonderful retirement home he deserves. This is not your average greyhound - this stunning dog has had 96 starts in mostly middle distance races, for stakes of almost $60,000 - amazing athlete with best of temperament.

His foster carer Danielle says:

Blitzy is very cute, very well behaved, and a very loving, soft doggie. He is very clever, clean (it took no time at all to toilet train him), and a perfect gentleman at all times. He loves his cuddles  and his walks, and walks beautifully on a lead.
Needless to say - Blitzy is very good looking, sleek and smooth, with lovely coloring and freckles (he looks like a Dalmatian cross!) and gorgeous brown eyes. He is about 31kg, neutered male, 4 years old.
Blitzy is perfectly fine being left alone at home for extended periods of time, so he is suitable for busy people who go to work etc.

Cuddle monster :)
Blitzy is very keen to learn as well as very motivated by treats and praise so will be easy to train.  He loves his food, is not fussy at all, and would do anything for treats.
He is lovely and soft with kids - in fact I think a home with some school age kids would be nice for him , as he would have someone to play with when the family are back home from work and school.
Blitzy has been socialized with dogs of all breeds and sizes, and currently shares a foster hoem with a few other greyhounds and a small white Bichon Friese. Blitzy would find cats a bit too much of a temptation to live with (so homes with no cats please) , however, he is not too bothered with cats out and about and can easily be corrected.

Blitzy would not take long to settle in with his new family as he is an independent and confident dog. Blitzy is also crate-trained.

Blitzy was beautifully bred from top lines of racing dogs (his sire is Australian greyhound Brett Lee), and he was dearly loved by his trainers and handlers during his racing career.  As a result, he is extremely friendly and  loves all people, as well as car trips as they remind him of going to the races :)

We thought to see whether any of our Nightrave friends would be interested in Blitzy - but of course his trainer will consider any good and responsible home for him.  We will be more than happy to help with settling in, advice , training or whatever else new owners might need.

Blitzy will go to his new home health checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and registered.
He will also come with a complimentary Nightrave designer collar and lead, of course :)

If you would like to know more about Blitzy, please contact us on nightravegreys@gmail.com, or call Fatima on 0274 526723. We are more than happy to arrange for you (and your pack if you have one) to meet Blitzy :)
