Update from Linford (Aleiron)

Chez, Steve and Lauren Taylor from Taupo have recently joined our ever expanding club of  'failed foster carers' :) 
In July last year, gorgeous red greyhound Rusty (Classy Fort) joined their family and made himself at home :) 
A few months ago, Taylors decided that they wanted to help GAP by fostering our gorgeous hounds. They have done a great job with fostering a few who have gone off to their forever homes - but this week have just adopted their current foster boy Linford (Aleiron), beautiful blue boy :)
Chez just sent us a few pictures of Linford, and of course Rusty:

Look  how dainty I am! Even though I'm a boy must have learnt to cross my legs in a Swiss
finishing school for young ladies in a previous life!!!

Linford (or Skinny Linny, as we call him!)  has such a wonderful nature and just loves everyone and everything - such a gentle boy. 
 He is happy with us though very chilled (after his stressy start for the first couple of days) . He is very much Lauren's shadow - he loves her and she walks him - he never pulls and trips like a fairy alongside her - they are a joy to see. Rusty and Linford get on so well, as you can see on the picture below:

Handsome Rusty (Classy Fort) went to live with his new family in Taupo just under two months ago. We have just received an update and cutest pictures from Chez, Steve and Lauren:

We are so lucky that Rusty has joined our family! He is the most wonderful hound and he has settled into our lives like he has always been with us or was meant just for us!
 We have so much fun with him, he is a natural comedian and pulls the funniest faces when we try to understand what he wants from us but fail – then he takes any frustration out on a quacking duck toy we bought him for a moment before he tries again to get through to the stupid two-legs!

One particularly endearing feature he has is when if we don’t notice that he wants out attention, say we’re cooking and he knows that he’s not allowed past a certain point into the kitchen, he stamps his feet until we know he is there – how clever is he? 
In two months he has been with us we have only heard him bark 3 or 4 times; we’ve even left him overnight with a packet of chippies on the coffee table (having overlooked them after a late night watching UK soccer on Sky!) then found them completely untouched the next morning -how gorgeous is that? :)

 Rusty's chilled and laid back attitude to life in general has made him a favorite of anyone who has met him so far, he is so gentle with anyone he meets- he even let 25 children under 5yrs whom i work with cuddle him to bits just 3 days after we picked him up - they got up close and personal looking at the tattooes in  his ears!! He loved every bit of it :) . 
He loves his grub, cuddly toys and his bed, he is so full of fun and love, obedient, quick to learn and please - -he stole our hearts with just one look!!!  Even my husband (who said before he met him "just remember, he is a dog, not a child") is completely smitten with him - see photo below!

He shares his love around all three of us but has secretly told me he loves him Mum the best!!!! A big THANK YOU to GAP and to Rusty's trainers for allowing us to adopt Rusty and completing our mad Taylor family which he has joined in with gusto!
In fact Rusty is so wonderful that we are now considering adopting another hound, if we can find another like him (impossible!) and one that he will get along with (should be OK on that score as Rusty is so easygoing). Watch this space!

Look at this gorgeous face :)

This is our foster greyhound Red (Classy Fort) who is staying with us for one more week - next weekend, he is off to his new home in Taupo :)

Actually, he is not called 'Red' any more - his future parents will call him 'Rusty' so that is what we have been calling him for a while now .
Rusty is cute as anything, gorgeous waggy and fun boy who loves to play, loves his toys and also loves his bed.

Handsome boy

Every time I go to GAP kennels in Sanson (and I go there often!), I always ask Sonja and Irene to see new greyhounds who have just arrived to GAP.  Despite being always so busy, Sonja and Irene somehow always manage to 'take a break' and take me into the kennels and show me the new doggies.

Well, myself and obviously Sonja and Irene have seen many gorgeous greyhounds, but our jaws literally dropped when we saw Red (Classy Fort).  This dog is just SO good looking : he is warm red color, with a little white blaze on his chest. He is TALL - I always thought my Louie was very tall, but Red is even taller! Red raced at 33kg, so he is a big greyhound, tall, lanky boy, with AMAZING body, and in amazing condition (he raced until recently, so he is all muscled up and looking awesome!). 

You would think Red would be aloof and quite self-absorbed, what with beeing so good looking? But no -he is the waggiest, soppiest , the most affectionate doggie :) He does not wag his tail -he wags his entire back end :)
Red, apart from being so gorgeous, was also a good racing dog (he comes from the Schofield kennels, from Pam and Denis, who have bred and raced my Louie :) He had 61 starts and did great!

Whoever adopts this gorgeous boy should really think about doing some ad work, TV, and similar work with him -it would be awesome promotion for greyhounds. If you yourself have a handsome hound -do check out 'A Grade Animals' agency.
