Louie (Charlston State) and his litter sister Georgie (Charlston Time)

Last weekend, we had some very special guests : Louie's litter sister Georgie and her family! Georgie lives in Auckland, so this was her and Louie's first meeting after retirement from racing over 5 years ago.

Georgie and Louie look like two peas in a pod -Georgie is a bit smaller, but everything else is pretty much carbon copy :) They are both turning 11yrs old in April and we think they both have aged wonderfully and look just gorgeous! You can see a few more photos on our public Facebook page.

Yesterday, Louie's trainer Denis Schofield was dropping off a few more of his retired greyhounds to the GAP kennels in Sanson - so Louie and me went over there to catch up! :)

Manawatu GAP walk today :)

We went to Manawatu monthly GAP walk today, which is held every last Sunday of every month, in Ashhurst Domain. Weather was lovely today, and we had a nice turnout. I took some pictures:

This is quite amazing...Louie tolerates children, but usually, there is no big love there...
He loved this little girl tho; her family came along for a walk as they are keen to adopt a greyhound :) This little girl was amazing with the dogs -many of them just went to her... I did not get her name or anything, but i think she will turn to be a great dog handler...

Ashhurst GAP walk last weekend

Despite the drizzle -we had a lovely GAP run at the Ashhurst Domain last weekend. I did not count the hounds, but we had quite a good turnout. Everybody had a fantastic time! Afterwards, us humans went to the Ashhurst Inn for wine/coffeee. It was a lovely Sunday.

My gorgeous Louie has claimed the new beanbag (with a very nice vintage patchwork cover!) although it is way too small for him :)
He has good taste and a penchant for vintage :)

I don't care how small it is, i am going to fit into it!
Even if my bum hangs out :)

I just found this lovely photo taken by Sonja -and I could not resist sharing it :) It was taken a few months ago, at a riding place in Feilding.
Benjamin The Corgi is one of Lucy's best friends. He lives in Kyrewood, the horse riding school where Rachel teaches. We take most of our foster greyhounds there to see horses and stock -so Benjamin has met MANY of our foster greyhounds, and he joins greyhound runs we have in paddocks there :)
