Just over a month ago, gorgeous Holly (Thrilling Holly) went to live with Carmen, Dean and their two kids in Wellington. We just got an update from them:

Holly has been with us for more than a month now and has settled down really well into family life. She's very gentle with our two children and all their little friends who come to visit. We had a birthday party for our toddler and she greeted everyone in such a friendly manner before lying down to have a rest at a guest's feet. :)
All our friends have remarked on what a calm and friendly dog Holly is. Holly absolutely loves her walks and gets the most excited when she senses that we are going out. She's a lovely walker (most of the time!) although she does have a stubborn streak (e.g. when she doesn't want to budge, she just stays absolutely still!).
Holly loves her very comfy bed especially with a pillow for her head. She sleeps very well all night in our living room and in the morning is usually full of beans again. Holly is a bit of a finicky eater but loves boiled chicken mince and pasta.:)

His foster carers sent us some of his pictures:

Chris loves the beach aswell :)

Despite his foster carer's best efforts Chris gravitated towards the couch like,
well, a greyhound towards a couch...

I am irresistable I suppose...:)
Cuddly Rex (Dark Fancy) has been in foster  care with us for a week or so and he is the most affectionate doggie you can imagine! :)
He is a big black doggie who wags his tail non-stop, in fact, he wags his whole body :) He is just precious :)
Rexy loves meeting and greeting other dogs and makes friends with everybody :) He asks EVERYBODY for cuddles by rubbing his head on them - wherever he can reach!
He loves his food and treats -but will happily leave all that and come for cuddles :)
Smiling Rexy
Rex was a very successful racer - he was trained by Pam and Denis Schofield , and then by Glen Hunt.
While at the Schofield kennels, his kennel mates were Harry (Jag's Flyer , also up for adoption at the moment) and Albion (Pressure Point, who was adopted recently and now lives in Lower Hutt ).
In July 2010, these three doggies won a trifecta ( ie. first three places) atWaikato Greyhounds meet at Cambridge , here is the link and photofinish of that race:

We took Rex , Louie, Lucy and our friend's dogs to Tangimoana Beach on Saturday -they had such fun! Rex LOVED the water and was frolicking in the waves :) Rexy is healthy and very fit - he just loved it! :)))

We are currently fostering the cutest girl, Beth (Miss Jo Beth). Beth, of course, is a greyhound, but we think she looks so much like a meerkat!!!
Just look at her (you can click on pictures to see bigger size):

Beth is very social, fun girl :) She is very cute, affectionate, beautifully behaved. She loves other dogs and is fun to walk and take to the dog park.
She loves everybody, affection and cuddles  - her tail is always wagging :)

Beautiful Milo (you can click on pictures to see full size)
Gorgeous Milo (Kapital) was adopted by Ingrid, Jonathan and their cute little baby (sorry, I dont know the baby'a name!) at the end of March this year -she now lives with them in Petone. :)
Ingrid just sent us an update:

First off, as soon as I saw the name 'Milo' on GAP website I just had to have a look, since it was on my baby names list (one of which my husband didn't like, so it would never have passed). Then we saw her, and thought she would suit us perfectly! Since I am 'training' a 10 month old human, I thought I might as well train a dog while I'm at it - which is a lot easier I must admit. :)

Milo and 'her' baby :) SO cute!
We've had Milo for nearly three weeks now, and after initial few days of settling in period, she is really starting to show her real colors now!  She has a great personality - after a time of napping she often gets up for a stretch, starts wagging her tail and then gets all silly and jumpy and teeth-chattery. SO cute!!
We take her for walks down to the beach which is only two blocks away, at least twice a day, and she loves meeting other dogs. We still have her on a lead since when she's excited she becomes deaf to us ;) She has been learning to 'wait' before crossing roads, which she's picked up really well, and is walking mostly great on the lead too - sometimes the cats are just too enticing!!

We have taken her with us to Hawkes Bay to have a run on my parents property - what an amazing sight when she is at full steam!! Totally incredible! She travelled super well, just like the books say, and really enjoyed sniffing out rabbits and pukekos. :)))

We're looking forward to teaching her new things, and giving her a nice relaxing life.
Thanks again for a wonderful dog!

Cute little Ziggy (Happy Cat)  is our latest foster greyhound -he arrived at the beginning of the week and has already settled in and made friends :)
Ziggy is very small for a male (only 27.5kg!!!), he is very sweet, affectionate and very calm for a greyhound puppy :) He sleeps through the night, eats well, is very clean and very polite.
I took some pictures of him playing and hanging around with our other foster doggies:

Paddling in Hutt river :)
Four weeks ago, gorgeous Albion (Pressure Point)  went to Lower Hutt to live with Chris and Carey. They just sent us an update:
The GAP experience has been great for us and Albion attracts attention whenever we are out! :)
Albion has settled in well in his first month with us and we can't imagine what it would be like without him in our lives now! Lots of new stuff going on for him but he loves having a run around the garden. The weather over Easter meant we all had a great time out and about, Albion was also keen to get involved with the gardening. He is not quite sure if he prefers his own toys or my slippers at the moment. He was described as a "lad" by the ladies at the GAP kennels and he is definately that - his disco moves are something to see! Sort of a jump, shake and wiggle. :)

Update from Evie (Catch a Pennie)

We just got an update from Denis and Jenny who have recently adopted cute Evie (Catch A Pennie):
Evie (Eve/Catch a Pennie) came to live with us (in New Plymouth)  on Friday the 9th March and what a crazy but fun month it has been. Evie quickly adopted her couch but also decided she was going to sleep with us in the bedroom. Each night she sleeps on a duvet filled with old pillows on the floor at the end of the bed. She has a habit of rapidly wagging her tail when you talk to her but nothing else moves. In the middle of night it is quite usual to hear her tail tapping a beat against our wardrobe doors. First thing in the morning when the alarm goes off its "Evie come here" and she leaps onto the bed between us and snuggles in, head on the pillows and a quick lick to the face.
Evie stays inside at home when we both go off to work but she does think everday is "take a doggie to work" day. As soon as she sense's you are getting ready to leave, she will grab a toy and be at the door, tail wagging ready to jump into the car. One of her favourite toys is Santa who regularly gets a thrashing but is never injured. I suspect santa didn't bring a good present last Christmas. She also collects blocks of wood, hair brushes, toilet brushes (yuk), toilet rolls, aluminium cans and my smelly socks. Might explain the bad doggy breath !!
Evie attended her first GAP promotion event at the Farmers Market in New Plymouth a couple of weeks ago. She was a little quiet to start with but slowly warmed to the task and was more than happy for people to come up, say hello and give her a love. Evie has now been to greyhound walk with 10 other hounds and was a GAPs ambassar at a Easter weekend Countdown fundraiser/promotion.
At home she has taken to digging holes (grrrr) in the lawn and burying her toys which are constantly in the wash. :) She loves going for walks and has settled in well, although she can't get over the man and hound that live in the glass ceiling ( reflection) of our entrance way at night!!!
